University Korean-track: TOPIK level generally expected
Quoted constantly as though it were one national rule. It is a general guideline, and individual universities and departments set their own, often higher. Worth watching as a level rather than trusting as a threshold.
- Applies to
- Foreign applicants to Korean-taught undergraduate programmes
- Review cadence
- Checked once a year
What we have recorded
- 2026-09-10Level 3 to enter, 4 to graduate
The government portal indicates level 3 or above as the general entry standard for Korean-taught degree programmes and level 4 or above for graduation. Individual universities and departments may require level 4 from the entry stage, and arts, English-track, exchange and GKS routes follow different standards entirely.
