Extended and night work: statutory premium
The premium attaches to each ground independently, so extended work performed at night carries both — 200% of ordinary wage in total, not 150%. Payroll systems that treat the two as alternatives underpay every night shift, and the error is invisible on a payslip that shows only a single overtime line.
- Applies to
- Employees at workplaces with five or more ordinary employees

- Checked once a year
What we have recorded
- 2026-09-2050% each
At least 50% of ordinary wage added for extended work, and at least 50% added for night work. Where both grounds apply to the same hour the total is 100% base plus 50% plus 50% — 200%.
