Government mobile ID credentials available to foreign residents
Undoes the assumption that the plastic card is a foreign resident's only identity document in Korea. Mobile credentials for foreign residents are a live government service rather than a pilot, and the set has been growing — so guidance describing it as unavailable to foreigners is not slightly behind, it is describing a different year.

Mobile versions of the alien registration card, the permanent residence card and the domestic residence report for overseas Koreans. Issued either by tagging an IC-chip card to a phone, or in person at an immigration office by QR for holders of an existing card. A foreign resident holding a Korean driving licence can additionally hold the mobile driving licence. Issuance runs through mobile phone identity verification, so a line that does not verify will block it.
