Registered foreign nationals: deadline to report a change of stay address
One day longer than the Korean nationals' deadline, from a different statute, with a different enforcement consequence — which is exactly why it needs its own field rather than an approximation of the resident registration rule. It is also the filing that carries a foreign tenant's opposing power, so the deposit and the immigration obligation ride on the same act.
- Applies to
- Foreign nationals holding alien registration who have moved to a new address in Korea
- Review cadence
- Checked once a year

Filed at the si/gun/gu or eup/myeon/dong community centre for the new address, or at the competent immigration office; electronic filing via Hi Korea is available in some cases. An alien registration card and something evidencing the actual address, such as the lease, are generally needed. A Korean spouse filing a household move-in report does not complete this — the registered foreign national's own filing is a separate act.
Immigration Act, art. 36
One reading so far. This becomes a history the first time the figure moves while we are watching — which is the part that cannot be reconstructed later.
